Part Name
The part name, is extracted from the PIECEIDENT field in the DSTV file. If this is blank the DRAWINGIDENT field is used instead.
Invoice Number
The invoice number is automatically set on the workorder, if it is not already set. If multiple files are imported and they contain conflicting invoice numbers, it is set to the first and a minor warning is generated.
Material Information
The material and thickness are extracted from the file and is matched with the materials and thickness available in the database. In the case that the material or the thickness cannot be found, the a dialog pops up, hinting in red what was found in the file. The material / thickness can be set from here.
If this is a regular occurrence then it is better to permanently add the material and thickness to the Material Database, or add an alias to an existing material name, so that the automatic matching will work without requiring user intervention each time.
Quantity
The quantity required is automatically set from the file, it can be changed if required through the workorder entry screen.
Stage
Also known as phase, is used to indicate where in time of a project that this part corresponds to. For example it may take the values (pre-production, production, repair or any arbitrary string).
DSTV Header Information
The entire header (from which the above information is extracted) is available in raw text format. The notes field of the part can be automatically updated with name, value pairs of all the fields in the header. Changing/editing the notes field does not affect the part in anyway.
