Select Items can be a powerful tool when you are trying to refine the sequencing of processes. In the example shown below you can go so far as to select the individual spindle processes. This will only be enabled when you are working at the process level, not at the groups level. Once you have selected all processes of a particular type you might (for example) RIGHT CLICK and select Do First, or create a new group for those processes
