A bill of materials file is useful for importing a commonly used collection of parts.
This type of Bill of Materials is for parts that are already loaded onto the PrimeCut NE database - i.e. parts you have used before.
1Click on the Workorders mode.
2Search for and open the workorder with the invoice number Bill of Materials.
3Click the Save Line Items to a Bill of Materials button near the center left of the screen.
4In the dialog that opens, save the file as BOMTut in an easy to find directory (e.g. your desktop).
If you were to open BOMTut.bom with Notepad (or any similar text editor) you will see how the Bill of Material is stored. This one looks as follows:
Flange,1
Flange 2,2
Flange 3,4
Post Base,1
If you are so inclined you can create a BOM yourself using this format. Note the part names are not case sensitive.
NOTE: As opposed to the Importing a CSV BOM, this has no column headers.
5Click the New Workorder button .
6Click the Open a Bill of Materials button .
7Find our BOMTut.bom file in that directory and Click Open.
8A multiply quantity window appears. This allows us to multiply the quantities of each part by a number in the text box. Leave this at 1 and press OK.
9The new Workorder should be populated with the previous workorder's parts, via the Bill of Materials we created.
10Home without saving.
