The programming software may provide the ability to do the aliasing "at source". For example, when programming GR250 10mm plate the programming software writes out:

M20(MS-10.0)

In PrimeCut NE this is done via the Touchcut Name property of each grade, and in the above example the Touchcut name of GR250 would be MS.

This method is preferable if available as it is generally easier to manage.
