Optional Consumables Charges are additional processing charges which can be accumulated to accurately reflect consumable costs. For example, the costs of electrodes, nozzles, electricity and gases. This data needs to be approximated by you and entered into the Costing Database under any or all of Cost Per Start, Cost Per Length and/or Cost Per Hour (see). Unfortunately costing at this level of detail will require considerable work to keep the costing tables up to date, and we therefore do not recommend it. You may find it easier to approximate consumable cost per hour and to just use the Cost Per Hour parameter (you will need to enter it for each process), or even more simply add it to the Machine Cost Per Hour (see Process Data ), where it would be the same across all processes.
Many users prefer to work from a simpler Machine Time based charging system; this is easier to maintain.
Be careful not to effectively double up your time charges when using consumables Charge Per Hour as well as Machine Charge Per Hour.
The Consumables Charge is frequently used for spindle processes to charge "per hole" by entering a cost per start under the drilling processes.
