Line Charges

The core cost of a quote is the sum of the line charges. Each line charge is a combination of: Machine Time, Material Cost, Consumable Cost, Programming Charge, Handling Charge, Extra Processing Charge and any discounts you have chosen to apply. You may choose which of these parameters you use when calculating your quotes. The Calculation below helps to explain how these parameters are combined to calculate the line total:

Cut Cost and Cut Sell are rarely used in practice, as there is a considerable amount of data to maintain to use these effectively.  The Mach Cost is the recommended means of charging for cutting and drilling time.

Markup mode may be used instead of Discount Mode, this is configured in global settings.  In markup mode the percentages are added instead of being subtracted.  Ie Markup % = - Discount %.

Overall Discount is applied "additively" to the Machine, Material and Cutting Cost Discounts, not multiplicatively/sequentially.  Thus a 50% overall discount and a 50% material discount will result in no material being charged.  It is recommended to use EITHER Overall discounts OR the Machine Materials and Cutting Cost Discounts, not both together.

Some of these terms are further defined below:

Mach Cost and Mach Sell (Machine Time Charge)

Mat Cost and Mat Sell

Consumables Charge
