The Rectangle with 2 Filleted Corners is a rectangular plate with a radius on its two top corners and square bottom corners. Each top corner has its own radius, so the two can be the same or different. Use it for brackets, tabs, lugs and end plates that sit square on one edge and are rounded on the other. (Formerly listed as "Filleted Rect 2"; searching for the old name still finds it.)
It appears in the shapes library under Rectangular Shapes.
Insert point and orientation
The insert point is the square bottom left corner. Width runs to the right along X and Height runs up along Y from that point. The fillets are on the top left and top right corners; the bottom edge is straight across its full width. Each fillet is a quarter circle, tangent to the top edge and to the side edge it meets. The outline is one closed path that starts at the insert point, goes up the left edge, round the top left fillet, along the top, round the top right fillet, down the right edge and back along the bottom – clockwise.
Properties
Property |
Description |
Default |
Height |
Overall size along Y, from the bottom edge to the top edge, in length units (mm or inches). The left and right sides are straight from the bottom edge up to the start of each fillet. |
75 mm (3 in) |
Left Fillet R |
Radius of the top left corner arc, in length units. |
25 mm (1 in) |
Right Fillet R |
Radius of the top right corner arc, in length units. |
50 mm (2 in) |
Width |
Overall size along X, measured along the straight bottom edge, in length units (mm or inches). |
100 mm (4 in) |
The defaults depend on the default unit system: the inch values are used when the default units are inches. The properties are listed in the order the property page shows them.
Notes
•The shape does not check its values. Keep each fillet radius no larger than Height, and keep Left Fillet R plus Right Fillet R no larger than Width. Outside those limits the corner arcs no longer meet the straight edges correctly and the outline can cross itself.
•The shape catches any error raised while it builds its outline and shows a red Warning: Cannot build shape from these parameters bar on the property page. The bar appears only when the build itself raises an error; out-of-range values that do not raise an error are not reported.
•Left Fillet R and Right Fillet R both equal to half the Width gives a fully rounded top – a tab or lug end.
•For the same radius on all four corners, use the Filleted Rectangle shape. For a radius on one corner only, use Rectangle with 1 Filleted Corner.
Every 2D shape also has the Transform properties (Base X, Base Y, Rotation, Scale, Mirroring X) and the Polar Array properties, listed after the properties above.
