Shapes Reference

Shapes are parametric 2D and 3D shapes from the shape library. A shape is described by its parameters, and its geometry is built from them. Each shape topic gives the shape's properties, their units and defaults, where the insert point is, and the errors the shape reports.

To add a 2D shape, select New 2D Shape in the Parts Area. The 2D Shapes wizard opens. Select a shape type and enter its parameters. The shape is then added to the Parts Area, and a Line Item that references it is added to the Workorder.

In PrimeShape and PrimeCut the property page lists the shape's own properties first, then a Transform group and then a Polar Array group. The Transform group is described on Shape Transform Properties, and the Polar Array group on Shape Polar Array. Every 2D shape has these groups, so the shape topics do not repeat them.

The shape topics are grouped as follows: Basic Shapes, Rectangular Shapes, Round Shapes, Triangles, Flanges, Gussets, Lifting Lugs, Other Shapes, Primitives, Thin Walled Developments, Pipe Development Shapes and Pipe Cutter Shapes. Mitered Pipe and Pipe Mitered both ends are listed directly under this section.
