The Gusset (Rounded Corners, Holes) is a rectangular plate with the two top corners rounded and a round hole concentric with each rounded corner. The bottom edge and the two bottom corners are square. Each top corner has its own fillet radius and hole diameter. The profile is a closed outline of four straight lines and two 90° arcs, plus the two holes. This shape was formerly called Gusset 5.
It appears in the shapes library under Gussets.

Gusset (Rounded Corners, Holes) in PrimeShape: the property page (left) and the shape with its dimensions (right).
Insert point and direction
The insert point is the bottom left corner of the plate, which is on the profile. The shape extends Width to the right (+X) and Height upward (+Y) from it.
The profile starts at the insert point and runs clockwise: up the left edge, round the top left fillet, across the top edge, round the top right fillet, down the right edge and back along the bottom edge to the start.
The left hole is centred on the centre of the left fillet, at (Left Fillet R, Height − Left Fillet R) from the insert point. The right hole is centred on the centre of the right fillet, at (Width − Right Fillet R, Height − Right Fillet R).
Properties
Property |
Description |
Default |
Width |
Overall size along X, from the left edge to the right edge (mm or inch). This is the length of the bottom edge. |
150 mm (6 in) |
Height |
Overall size along Y, from the bottom edge to the top edge (mm or inch). |
100 mm (4 in) |
Left Fillet R |
Radius of the rounded top left corner (mm or inch). It also sets where the left hole is: the hole is centred on the centre of this fillet. |
25 mm (1 in) |
Left ID |
Diameter of the left hole (mm or inch). If Left ID is 0 no hole is cut; a single point is placed at the hole centre instead. |
25 mm (1 in) |
Right Fillet R |
Radius of the rounded top right corner (mm or inch). It also sets where the right hole is: the hole is centred on the centre of this fillet. |
25 mm (1 in) |
Right ID |
Diameter of the right hole (mm or inch). If Right ID is 0 no hole is cut; a single point is placed at the hole centre instead. |
25 mm (1 in) |
Defaults follow the drawing units: the metric values above, or the inch values in brackets when working in inches.
Because each hole is centred on its fillet centre, the wall left between the hole and the rounded edge is Fillet R − ID / 2 all the way round the fillet. With the defaults this is 12.5 mm (0.5").
Limits and errors
The shape checks none of its values before it builds the profile. Each build step runs inside an exception handler. If an error is raised, the property page shows a red bar reading Warning: Cannot build shape from these parameters and the profile may be incomplete. The error is not tied to one particular value, so keep the values within the limits below:
•Left Fillet R + Right Fillet R must be no more than Width, and each fillet radius no more than Height. Otherwise the top edge runs backwards, the fillets overlap or run below the bottom edge, and the profile crosses itself.
•Each ID should be no more than twice its Fillet R. At ID = 2 × Fillet R the hole touches the top and side edges; above that it breaks through the profile.
•A Fillet R of 0 gives a square corner. The hole for that corner is then centred on the corner itself, so for any ID above 0 part of the hole lies outside the plate.
•Negative values are not checked. They give a profile that does not match the description above.
Every 2D shape also has the Transform properties (Base X, Base Y, Rotation, Scale, Mirroring X) and the Polar Array properties, listed after the shape's own properties.
