The Users module can be accessed by clicking on the Users button on the PrimeCut NE Start Screen. It can only be used by Administrators or Kinetic in order to add new users or change privileges. The basic structure for users in PrimeCut NE is that Users belong to Groups, and Groups are granted permissions. The users window is split into 3 sections as shown below.
Every database (including the Tutorials databases) must have at least one Administrator user. Other users can be granted administrative rights, by placing them in the Administrators group, but there will always be one user called Administrator.
By double clicking on a username you can edit the details for that user such as name, password and what groups they belong to. The Network Name field is where you can enter in their Windows username. This way PrimeCut NE can automatically select the correct user by seeing who they are logged into windows under.
By double clicking on a group name you can edit the details for that group such as the name of that group and what permissions users of that group are allowed.
Each user has access to a large number of User Settings . User Options include all the user settings, in addition to various MRU entries and window positions. You can right click on a user to copy one users settings to one or more other users. There is also a Reset User Options command which sets the options back to that of Administrator. Note this does not include administrator's permissions and group memberships, just the User Options.
