Fabricator Magazine Features Kinetic Plasma Cutting

We’re pleased to share that a recent issue of the top metal fabrication trade magazine, The Fabricator, featured Kinetic’s own U.S. Operations Manager Jeff Lee. In the article, “The Potential of Done-in-One Plate Cutting,” Lee takes readers back in time to when plate cutting combo machines came onto the fabricating scene. He then discusses how the equipment has evolved as operators’ needs became more sophisticated and complex.

Indeed, combination plasma and oxyfuel cutting machines have come a long way over the years! After initially incorporating basic drilling capabilities, they have evolved to give operators more and more automated processes and the ability to produce parts with optimal precision.

Lee also discusses that combination cutting requires looking at the “big picture.” Handling materials after they’re cut and have gone through other processes is just as critical to throughput efficiency. Combination plasma cutting machines that have heavy-duty pick-and-place automation allow fabrication shops to reduce the number of times parts must be moved. With drilling, milling tapping, chamfering, thermal cutting, and material handling capabilities all in one machine, combination systems give fabricators unprecedented levels of productivity and profitability.
