License Usage

PrimecutNE employs floating network licenses.  At its simplest this means if you have 3 licenses, then you can have 3 users connected via PrimecutNE Clients to to the PrimecutNE server simultaneously.  A 4th user would not be allowed to connect until someone else logs out.  There are however some special cases worth considering:

A user can start up 2 sessions on their computer at once, and this will only occupy 1 Primecut license.  This is to allow users to be more productive, and to be able to add customer or costing data quickly without interrupting their current work.

When Primecut is run on Terminal servers (RDP) or Citrix, remote users must use unique Primecut login names.  A session is defined by the computer name the client is running on, and the Primecut username.  Aside from the special case above, no more than 2 sessions with the same session key are allowed.

Connected Touchcut machines do not consume licenses.

A special ERP License is available to reserve a license specifically for an ERP automation process.

Licenses can be parked (by contacting Kinetic Support).  This disables them for extended periods to reduce ongoing software maintenance if the licenses are not being used, while allowing them to be reactivated at a later date when they may be needed again.
