Editing a Cost ID

see also Importing Process Data

A Cost ID (synonymous with CostingID) is a number representing a cutting, marking or beveling process type. It is not used for milling or drilling operations, these are bit based.

To edit the number and names of the fields for the table associated with a specific process, double click on a Cost ID field in the top left window of the Process Data screen, to open a dialog like the one shown. The section in blue defines the column names used to set up lookup strings in the Process Data.

Edit Process ID

The name that PrimeCut gives to the system and process can be edited here, as well as its description. As we can see from the previous section, PrimeCut allows the user to specify a default process based on Cost ID, Material and Material Thickness.

PrimeCut also allows the user to specify default processing information based on a fourth parameter which we refer to as a Threshold Lookup Type. In this example we have set our Threshold Lookup Type to Hole Diameter. This means Hole Diameter is being used as a extra dimension to our table to be looked up when processing a hole geometry. Note that it doesn't interpolate between hole diameters, it simply assigns the properties stored in the row associated with the lowest satisfied threshold. For example from our table below if a hole of 31mm diameter on 6 mm mild steel was being processed, the lowest satisfied threshold would be the Hole Diameter<= 42mm threshold, so that row's information would be used. If none of the thresholds are satisfied, then the parent/default row for that plate thickness is used. We can also see that the additional fields we defined in the blue region in the above dialog now feature in our table below.

As can be seen in the above table, the additional fields corresponding to our field names have been added to the table.
