Nest Priority and Test Coupons

nestpriority

By default workorder items receive the Normal Priority, but other priorities can be assigned which affect the sorting of parts going into AutoNesting.  Normally larger parts are nested first, but priorities provide a weighting multiplier to the size criteria, as follows:

Low Priority

0.5

Normal Priority

1.0

High Priority

2.0

Highest Priority

5.0

That is, a Highest Priority part (x5) that is say 1/4 the size of a Normal Priority part will get Autonested before than the Normal Priority part.

The icons are visible beside the parts in nesting mode.

Note that the "priority" Test Coupon is not listed in this table, because it is never Autonested, they must be manually nested.  This priority is intended for use on test coupons to be added to nests to check bevel setup, tool offsets etc.

Another special property of these parts is that they will be ignored by Memory Nesting when it is looking for useful nests, as a given test coupon may have been used on thousands of plates.
