The Kinetic Advanced Bevel Tool is a new feature available with TouchCut6. It gives the user more explicit control over the orientation of the bevel tool, enabling more complex parts to be cut than could previously be achieved.
It is now possible to specify both a start and a finish angle, so that bevel angle is varied along the length of the cut. Prior to the Advanced Bevel it was only possible to specify a single angle that a segment should be cut at.
Another enhancement is the ability to turn off tangent following so that the bevel normal angle can be specified by the user. The benefit of this will become apparent in a later tutorial when we cut an elliptical hole in 20mm plate so that a pipe can pass through at a 45 degree angle.
PrimeCut has also been updated so that you can view bevel processes in 3D. Where previously it may have been difficult to visualize the shape of the final part, now it can be seen on the screen.
